Using Essential Oils to replace Synthetic Fragrance
Updated: Dec 3, 2017
This is something i'm REALLY passionate about.
One of my main intentions is to create awareness around the harm of using toxic chemicals in our personal care items.
The EWG reported that women use up to 100 toxic chemicals in their skincare, haircare and personal care products everyday. Toxic chemicals which have been linked to a variety of health concerns such as allergies, cancer, birth defects and also known carcinogens and hormone disruptors.
Synthetic fragrance is one of the KEY culprits and it's something we are conditioned to absolutely LATHER ourselves in as young teenagers flipping through the pages of Girlfriend and Dolly magazines.
Let's take a look at the history of fragrance perfume - traced back to Egypt, Greece and Rome the origin of perfume began by the use of plant extracts aka essential oils. Now, essential oils were not distilled then as they are now but the process was very similar.
Plants such as Lavender, Rosemary and Frankincense were used to create beautiful aroma that was known to not only smell amazing but also balance ones emotions.
It wasn't until the French created a real industry for Fragrance that these natural plant liquids were commercialised and filled with a variety of chemicals and synthetic fillers known as synthetic fragrance.
Some of you are unable to wear synthetic fragrances because they cause allergies and headaches, doesn't that say enough?
So ladies (and men) are you ready to make the swap?
I'd like to share with you what I choose to wear on my skin as PUREfume natural plant liquid that smell delicious, have physical AND emotional benefits! Talk about winning.
